Publicare's legacy system couldn't sustain modern healthcare logistics demands. The platform needed to support multi-stage ordering where institutions purchase on behalf of patients, integrate with diverse health information systems, synchronize in real-time with Microsoft Dynamics Navision ERP, and maintain quality across three Swiss languages (German, French, Italian).
We implemented a "Transparent Commerce" approach where the backend functions as an intelligent connector linking specialized tools:
- ERP (Navision): Product catalog, pricing, customer data, orders, and assortments
- PIM (Crossbase): Product descriptions, imagery, and attributes in multiple languages
- CMS (Cockpit): Marketing content, banners, and editorial pages
Healthcare Integration
HL7-FHIR connections with Swiss health platforms (Swing, Nexus, Perigon), automated patient data sync, digital prescription management with secure uploads and signatures, and MIGEL compliance for insurance reimbursement.

Apache Solr with language-specific analyzers and medical synonym support, GraphQL persisted queries with SHA256 hashing, multi-layer Redis caching with intelligent invalidation, and offline-capable ordering.
